SOFTWARE ENGINEER OR PRODUCT DEVELOPER – REMOTE

Urban Outdoors is a consumer technology company that’s cultivating local communities in cities through outdoor recreation. So far, Urban Outdoors has helped over 2.5 million people get outdoors in their own city, and we’re currently building a solution to serve our users in a more meaningful way. We are seeking an adventurous, outdoor-loving Software Engineer or Product Developer to join us as a Co-Founder or Founding Head of Product.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the technical leader of the company, leading product design and development
  • Build, test, and launch our app MVP
  • Provide product feedback and technical expertise to founding team
  • Manage development sprints and feature rollouts
  • Analyze and monitor user data and analytics to determine feature prioritization
  • Hire and manage contractors and engineering team as we scale
  • Work closely with our community team to optimize products for user behaviors and desired business outcomes
  • Be fully committed to our company’s mission of building a robust outdoor community platform

What We’re Looking For

  • 3-5+ years of experience in full-stack development for web and mobile applications
  • Experience building app MVPs from scratch
  • Experience working in or managing dispersed/remote/offshore teams a major plus
  • A highly communicative and responsive team player with a scrappy, “roll-up-your-sleeves” founder mentality
  • Someone willing to think critically, solve problems, and lead their team in a supportive and engaging way
  • An extreme passion for outdoor recreation and building offline communities, and full alignment with our company’s mission and goals
